Jamil spent 5 years developing in Plymouth Argyle’s academy, before being released at 18. That moment led him to Vertex Soccer founder Sam Craven, who helped facilitate his move to Marshall University in West Virginia.
During his time at Marshall, Jamil became a key player for the Thundering Herd during their rapid rise to the top of college soccer, culminating in winning the 2020 NCAA Division 1 National Championship. Jamil was named ‘Offensive MVP’ after scoring the game winners in the quarter finals, semi finals, and the College Cup final on the road to lifting the program's first ever national title. His performances led to his selection in the 2021 MLS SuperDraft by Sporting Kansas City.
Jamil went on to play professionally in the US for Sporting KC, South Georgia Tormenta FC, and Chattanooga Red Wolves, with his career highlighted by scoring the winning goal in the 2022 USL League One Final, securing Tormenta’s first-ever league title. In 2025, Jamil returned to England, signing with Truro City FC in the National League South.
