Stanford University Men's Soccer boasts an impressive legacy, securing the NCAA national championship three consecutive times in 2015, 2016, and 2017, a testament to their prowess on the pitch.
This year, they set out on an exhilarating 10-day tour of England, where they combined competitive soccer fixtures, thrilling live games, and exclusive training experiences
" A quote from a player, another coach etc"
Stanford kicked off against Derby County U19 at Moor Farm Training Center, followed by a strong Sheffield United U21 challenge at Sheffield United FC’s Training Ground in Yorkshire. They concluded their fixtures against Wrexham AFC U23s at Colliers Park in Wales.
The tour featured live professional fixtures at both the beginning and end. They witnessed international action live at Wembley during the England vs Ukraine friendly. Later in the week, they caught Chelsea vs Aston Villa at Stamford Bridge.
Beyond the game, the tour offered unforgettable experiences. A golf outing with soccer legend Andriy Shevchenko was a standout highlight, providing valuable insights beyond the pitch.
Training at Leeds United and a Stadium Tour of Elland Road with former Wake Forest Player Jack Harrison enriched their soccer knowledge. Stanford Men’s Soccer also had the unique opportunity to train at Manchester United’s Carrington Training Ground, a world-class facility.
As the 10-day tour came to an end, the Stanford University Men's Soccer team returned home to California with an array of unforgettable experiences. This journey wasn't just about playing soccer; it was about embracing new challenges, expanding their horizons, and connecting with the heart and soul of the sport. The tour left them with cherished memories that will shape their soccer journeys for years to come
